This Finale Friday is about Sadie K. Frazier. Please take a minute to read Sadie's response to my questions.

1) When there are so many things in this world that could drawn you in, what draws you in to writing?

I often find myself totally immersed in the characters I create and when their plans and schemes begin running rampant in my mind when I should be concentrating on other things, such as work, I know it's time to write! It draws me in and I can think of nothing else until I get the words down on paper that need to come out. Sometimes I don't feel as if I choose to write, I feel it chose me!

2) How long have you been writing for and when was your first publication?

I have been writing since I was about 11-12 years old, and fell in love with the whole creative writing aspect during my high school years. I put it aside for many years as I got busy doing "life", but I am now back at it again and even more in love than I was before. My first actual published short story came out in October, 2016. It's called The Chronicles of Travelstead: Coven of Ashwood Falls.

Current works in Progress: My first full-length manuscript called The Indigo Prince of Temple Moor. Also working on The Skye Morningside Series Book One: The Lotus Network. I hope to finish up The Chronicles of Travelstead Book Two: Mount Crusarius Asylum by early August as well.

3) How important is technology to you in regards to writing?

It is extremely important. The internet is definitely an invaluable tool. Being able to research people, places, and things while making up outlines of future chapters and plots is essential to me as a writer. It's nice having it all saved on my Google Drive so that I can access it from virtually anywhere to update, edit, and expand my thoughts and ideas at a moment's notice.

4) Does technology interfere with your writing ability?

Most definitely! I can't tell you the number of times my computer has crashed and I've almost lost everything I had worked so hard on. Technology terrifies me quite honestly, so it helps that I'm married to a pretty fantastic I.T. guy!

5) In an ideal environment, what stimulates your creative writing side?

My ideal environment consists of incense lit, candles burning, headphones on with magical/fantasy/celtic/dark mysterious music playing while I create my masterpiece. A hot cup of coffee is a must to get my mind going and my creative side stimulated!

6) Do you have a favorite author(s).

My favorite author is probably Nora Roberts. I have also read many of Mary Higgins Clark's books. I love a true medical thriller, mystery with a plot twist, and anything with a magical fantasy flair. I despise trashy romance novels!

7) What advice would you give to up and coming authors?

First and foremost, STOP doubting yourself! Never give up! Self-doubt can be your ultimate undoing as a writer. I write as I feel led and yes, I often have moments where I doubt myself and whether anyone will even want to read what I've concocted in my head. But that kind of thinking won't get you far. Believe in what you write; your characters, your plots, your visions, with all of your heart and never give up the dreams you have!

8) For you, what is the hardest part about writing and developing a story?

The hardest part is probably not being able to do this full-time and having to stop and start as life's interruptions happen. There is nothing more frustrating than getting lost in your own head and being in the middle of what could potentially be a life changing event in the life of your character, and having to shut it all off because you have to do something in the real world. Don't get me wrong, I love my life! It's just difficult juggling it all while trying to become a great writer.

9) Do you use real life examples or scenarios as your inspirations?

Of course! I am currently working on a book that I am deriving bits and pieces and people (with names changed to protect the innocent of course ha ha) from the small town I grew up in. I believe that everything we have been through in our life has happened for a specific reason, and that I have grown from each one of those experiences in a different way, so why not use those life lessons as I write?!

10) Of all the numerous steps of writing a book to seeing it on the shelf, digital or otherwise, what has been the hardest part(s) for you? Easiest part(s)?

The hardest part has definitely been putting that final perfect ending to whatever I am working on. Also, probably trying to overcome self-doubt. (I haven't quite mastered this one yet, but I'm working on it!) The easiest part has been the fact that my husband is a writer as well, so being able to bounce ideas off of each other and encourage each other along the way has been awesome! He truly gets it because he is a published author as well and that makes things so much easier in the long run. This is a new journey for both of us and it has been one of the best experiences of my life. I can't wait to see what the future holds for us both!

Message me if you would like a little extra publicity and I will add you to my blog!
